Lauren’s early performances were with the Australian Opera Children’s Chorus, Gondwana Voices, the Sydney Children’s Choir, Sydney School Singers and music festivals. In the USA, she performed as soloist, chamber ensemble member and chorister in venues including the National Basilica, Lincoln Centre, Disneyland, the Pentagon, the Australian Embassy and Carnegie Hall. In 2001, she won the UNSW Sony Foundation Music Scholarship.
